The Options Chain is the fastest way to inspect strikes, expirations, liquidity, positioning, and volatility in one place.
What this page shows
Section titled “What this page shows”Inside Gaudio OTT, the options chain helps you read:
- call and put strikes
- implied volatility
- greeks
- Open Interest
- volume
- expiration structure
Why traders use it
Section titled “Why traders use it”The chain turns raw option rows into a practical decision surface.
You can compare nearby strikes, identify where positioning is concentrated, and move into deeper analysis with better context.
How to read it
Section titled “How to read it”1. Start from expiration
Section titled “1. Start from expiration”Choose the expiration you care about first. Short-dated flows and longer-dated positioning often tell different stories.
2. Compare Open Interest and volume
Section titled “2. Compare Open Interest and volume”Open Interest shows existing positioning. Volume shows current session activity. Reading both together prevents the common mistake of overreacting to one noisy print.
3. Inspect implied volatility with the strike map
Section titled “3. Inspect implied volatility with the strike map”A strike is not interesting only because premium is high. The useful question is whether the volatility, positioning, and distance from spot align with your thesis.
Common mistakes
Section titled “Common mistakes”- reading volume without Open Interest context
- ignoring expiration selection
- treating every active strike as actionable
- looking at one side of the chain without comparing the opposite side
Is the options chain enough on its own?
Section titled “Is the options chain enough on its own?”No. It is the entry point, not the whole analysis. Use it together with symbol overview and the deeper analytics pages.
What should I compare first?
Section titled “What should I compare first?”Expiration, Open Interest, volume, and volatility. Those four usually give the first useful read.
