Intraday Open Interest

The Intraday Open Interest chart (in Intraday analysis) shows, strike by strike, the Open Interest of options — that is, the number of open contracts — separating calls and puts. It is useful to locate the price levels where market interest is most concentrated.

Intraday Open Interest chart by strike, calls in green and puts in red

Open Interest by strike: calls in green, puts in red; the dashed line marks the current price (spot).

  • Each bar represents a strike; its height shows the Open Interest on that strike.
  • The color separates calls and puts, so you immediately see where interest concentrates.
  • The vertical dashed line marks the current price (spot): this helps you judge which concentrations sit above and which below the market.
  • The summary at the bottom shows call and put totals and the Put/Call ratio.
  • Strike filter (Moneyness) — limits the view to strikes within a chosen distance from the price (for example ±5%).
  • Show Levels — highlights the most significant levels.
  • Net positions — shows the net balance instead of the separate values.
  • Rotate chart — switches the orientation of the bars.
  • Screenshot and Fullscreen — save an image or view the chart full screen.

Strikes with high Open Interest tend to work as reference areas: they are the levels where the market holds the largest number of open positions. Compare them with the current price to spot possible support and resistance zones.
